Miriam Pate Hubbard of Wicksburg went home to be with her Lord, Monday, February, 12, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 89.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February, 14, 2024 at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church in Wicksburg with Rev. Allen Singley, and Rev. Buddy Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Bottoms Funeral Home of Hartford directing. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until the time of service.  


Miriam was born, October, 19, 1934, at home in Wicksburg to the late Bert and Sallie Pate. She was a 1953 graduate of Wicksburg High School. After graduation, Miriam began her career at Southeast Health, formerly Southeast Alabama General Hospital, in 1958 and worked there for almost 50 years. 


Miriam was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and watching Auburn Football. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. 


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Blanche Parrish and Zeta Spooner and her daughter-in-law Monica Hubbard. 


Miriam is survived by her daughter Kay (Carl) Sanders, her son Jeff Hubbard; her grandchildren: Ashely (Amanda) Sanders and Isabel Hubbard. Miriam is also survived by her great-grandchildren who she dearly loved: Will and Eleanor. Her nieces: Grace Clearmen, Sharon Dasinger, Becky Harvard, Kathy Bryant; nephew Harry Wayne Parrish and great-niece Kelli Sharitt.
