OZARK… Mr. Alan “Gene” Michaels, a resident of Ozark, died early Wednesday morning, April 15, 2020 at his home. He was 77.


            Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and CDC guidelines, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at later date. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1971 Deese Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.


            Mr. Michaels, son of the late Earl Robert Michaels and Velma Garrison Michaels, was a native of Wilmington, Ohio. Following graduation from high school, he joined the United States Navy and served two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Michaels lived in various locations before moving to Ozark in 2009. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #94, Ozark and Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Mr. Michaels was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Dalrymple,  brother, Danny Michaels, and a grandson, Garrett Vineyard.


            Surviving relatives include his wife of fifty-two years, Sharon L. Michaels, Ozark; his children, Michelle Cochran, Trenton, OH; Kellie Vineyard (Bret), Wilmington, OH; Pamela Richardson, Barnardsville, NC; Jennifer Cook, Ozark; Stacey Castle, Tallahassee, FL; Earl Robert Michaels, II (Kim), Wilmington, OH and Nicole Farkash (Phoenix, AZ); his sister, Becky Michaels, Dayton, OH; two brothers, David Michaels (Lydia), Bowersville, OH and Jody Michaels, Lawrenceburg, IN; twenty six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
