Alex Darrell Wilkinson, a resident of Dothan, Alabama died Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Southeast Health. He was 91.


Graveside Services will be held at 11:30AM Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10AM to 11PM prior to the service at the funeral home.


Mr. Wilkinson was born on January 25, 1930 to Tullis and Mary Campbell Wilkinson. He was a diehard Auburn fan that loved watching his Tigers on Saturdays “War Eagle”. Alex was a well rounded man that lived his daily life to the utmost. After retirement from Georgia Pacific he began to enjoy the things he liked the most: hunting, fishing, and sharing his knowledge most mornings in Ray’s Restaurant at the Table of Knowledge. He always cherished the precious times spent with his family and many friends. He will be dearly missed.


He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Wilkinson; a sister, Elaine Crenshaw.


Survivors include two nephews, Will Crenshaw (Melissa) and Andy Crenshaw (Jeanene); one niece, Kim Cason (Phillip); devoted friends who were thought of like family, Phillip and Jamie Purvis along with their daughter, Linzey Still (Preston); numerous grand nieces, nephews and a special friend, Danny Willis.
