Mr. Aubrey Smith of Dothan passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the age of 90.


Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 2, 2022, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Steve Ramsey as the minister. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday, one hour prior to the service.


Aubrey was born on March 14, 1932, to the late Accie Smith and Melvie Haynes Smith. Aubrey started pursuing his interest in watchmaking at the tender age of 13. This passion would continue for 77 years, until he was 90 years old. In the early 1950s, Aubrey would meet and fall in love with the love of his life, Nellie. Together they raised three loving and hardworking sons. Aubrey would spend 25 years working for Kirkland Jewelry and 28 years working at Sears before retiring. He was a valued member of Taylor Church of Christ.


In addition to his parents, Accie and Melvie Smith, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Frances Wyatt, Betty S. Herren, and Fannie Ida Wyatt.


Survivors include sons, Michael Smith (Beth), Tim Smith (Ramona), and Phillip Smith; sister, Hazel Dorough; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
