Mr. Ben “Skip” Powel IV of Dothan, AL passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the age of 69.

Skip was born in Nashville, TN to the late Ben F. Powel Jr. and Marie (Taylor) Powel on July 14, 1952.  After high school, Skip graduated from the University of South Alabama in Mobile with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

His greatest accomplishment was being married to the love of his life, Sharon (Benton) Powel, for 45 years. He also enjoyed playing golf, listening to music, doing crossword puzzles and sudoku.

Skip was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Powel.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon (Benton) Powel; sister, Beth Powel; mother-in-law, Mary Benton; brother-in-law, David Benton (BJ); sister-in-law, Teresa Greathouse (Ricky); several cousins; a host of good friends; and a special companion, Cooper.

Visitation will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 2-4 PM.
