Mr. Billy Love Lane, age 92, of Dothan, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022.

Born February 19, 1930 in Dothan to the late Aaron Leo Lane and Audrey Love Lane, Billy was a graduate of Dothan High School and also attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute. He served his country in the Korean War in the United States Air Force. He married his high school sweetheart, Sarah Segrest Lane on December 1, 1956. A longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, Billy was ordained as a deacon in 1966 and served the past several years as a greeter. He loved woodworking and DIY projects but what he loved the most was watching his grandchildren play baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Segrest Lane; his son, Charles Love Lane; and his granddaughter, Heather Marie Lane.

Survivors include his daughter, Lucinda Lane Harrison (Stacey); his grandsons, Ben Tankersley (Stephanie), Dan Tankersley (Anna), and Dustin Harrison (Millicent); nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Tankersley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 901 Montezuma Avenue Dothan, Alabama 36303 or Wiregrass Humane Society, 255 Jerry Drive, Dothan, AL  36303.
