Mr. Billy Ray Dillard, a resident of Ozark, died Friday, March 15, 2019, at Wesley Place in Dothan.  He was 88 years old.


Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 18, 2019, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Floyd Ingram officiating.  Interment will follow with Masonic Rites in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Sunday from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.


Mr. Dillard was born June 19, 1930, in Ozark, Alabama to the late Willie Ray Dillard and Mary Myrle Jones Dillard. He and his father owned and operated City Market in Ozark which had been family owned for over 100 years. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and was called to active duty during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Dillard was a member of the Ozark First Assembly of God Church and a past Master Mason with Ozark Lodge 349, recently receiving his fifty-year pin. He loved to swim at Blue Springs Park, going fishing, reading, and sports cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant brother and also his brother, Paul Dillard.


Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Janice Stone Dillard of Ozark; one daughter, Dr. Shelia Dillard of Fairhope, Alabama; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Ray “Buster” Dillard and Thea of Houma, Louisiana;  one sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Johnny Young of Ozark. Four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Hwy – Suite 2,  Dothan, Alabama  36303.
