Obituary:  Mr. Buren Odell Collins

 

            Mr. Buren Odell Collins of Slocomb passed away Sunday, February 05, 2012 at Wesley Manor Nursing Home.  He was 93.

 

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Etheridge officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

 

            The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until service time.

 

            Mr. Collins was born on April 15, 1918 in Geneva County, AL to the late Hosea and Sophia Collins. 

 

            He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Collins; three sisters:  Ruth Tew, Bonnie Grace Burton, Frances Martin; two brothers:  Hosea Paul Collins and James Collins.

 

            Survivors include his two sisters:  Mildred Adkison of Slocomb, Yuvan Holland of Hartford; two brothers:  Raymond Collins (Ruby) of Slocomb, Hilton Collins (Elvie) of Tallahassee, FL; several nieces and nephews.
