ARITON…Mr. Byron Wayne Sasser, a resident of Ariton, died Thursday morning, September 14, 2023, at his home. He was 64.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Sasser was a native of Ariton and was a 1976 Graduate of Ariton High School. He enjoyed playing basketball while in high school for the Ariton Purple Cats. Mr. Sasser was retired as a truck driver from Johnston Trucking in Brundidge. He enjoyed football, especially watching the University of Alabama. Mr. Sasser loved spending time with his family, which was his entire life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Faye Snell Sasser; two brothers, Hilton Sasser and Johnny Sasser; sister, Lashun Sasser.

            Surviving relatives include his granddaughter, Keri Tomlin-Krepps (Ryan); grandsons, Nicholas Tomlin and George Tomlin; step-daughter, Julie Tomlin; step-son, Denny Tomlin (Winnie); sister-in-law, Norma Sasser; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
