Mr. Cammie Joe Grantham, a resident of the Echo Community, died Sunday, January 17, 2021, in Dale Medical Center.  He was 86 years old.


Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 20, 2021, in the Chapel of  Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark with Reverend Bob Cox officiating.  Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until service time. Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Ward, Robert Dasinger, Ray Grantham, Billy Ferguson, Greg Tew and Ken Enfinger.


Mr. Grantham was born July 6, 1934 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Pearcy Grantham and Mattie Snell Grantham. He served in the United States Army during World War II.  Mr. Grantham was self employed in the logging and pulpwood business for over fifty-five years until his retirement.  He then worked with Jesco until his final retirement.  He loved hunting and fishing. On any sunny day you could find him fishing with his grandchildren on Highway 27 near the old River Bend.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Jewel Barefield, Eloise Reed, Millie Penton and Zenobia Oaks; four brothers, Woodrow Grantham, Mike Grantham, Dan H. Grantham, John P. Grantham; and one grandson, Daniel Logan Grantham.


Survivors include two sons, Rickey and June Grantham of Skipperville and Randy Grantham of Ozark; two grandchildren, Amy Shaw and Emily Wilson; five great grandchildren, Weston Grantham, Abby Peters, D’norrio Wilson, Jr., Elijah Wilson and Malachi Wilson; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Eunice Grantham; special friends, Dan and Reba Enfinger.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Mrs. Nancy Gast, 6349 North County Road 67, Skipperville, Alabama  36374.
