Surrounded by his family, Charles Paul Wise passed away in his home at 91 years of age in Huntersville North Carolina. He was born to Ray Edward Wise and Fern B Anderson on April 19 1931 in Amity Missouri, the middle of their six children.

Graveside services for Charles will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Cedar Springs Baptist Church cemetery with Josh Powell officiating and military honors rendered. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

At 19 years old he enlisted in the Air Force where he would learn computer science and was discharged in 1953. He would soon after go to work for General Motors where he would spend the next 31 years as a computer engineer before he retired in 1984.

Charles lived for Family, Racing and General Motors. He met his loving wife, Annette in Bellflower California in 1961 and it wasn’t long before the two were driving to Las Vegas in his 1959 Corvette to get married. Soon after they welcomed their two children, Kelli and Eric into the family.

In 1966 Charlies passion for the automotive industry saw him purchase his first race car. After a few tries driving, he discovered his mechanical talents were his real gift and began to hire drivers. In 1973 he won the NMRA TQ Championship and 13 races as an owner while pioneering a new engine and technologies for the series. 25 years later, in 1999 he would win another TQ Championship as an owner for his grandson.

Charles is deeply loved and was surrounded by his family in his late life, and maintained his sense of humor, stubbornness, and grit until his final moments with us.

He is survived by his wife Annette, children, Eric and Kelli, six grandchildren Josh, Jase, Jennifer, Brandon, Casey and Zack, and eleven great grandchildren. Haylee, Harlow, Cody, Hayden, Remy, Emmitt, Harper, Kylar, Bronson, Halston, Kailani.
