Mr. Clarence Ellenburg of Geneva, Alabama passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012.  He was 96.


 


Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Donnie Earles and Rev. Calvin Sherrouse officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, April 4, from 6 until 8 p.m.


 


Mr. Ellenburg was born October 28, 1915, in Covington County to the late Freeman and Martha Coon Ellenburg.  He was a retired farmer and he loved to visit with his family and friends and talk about “the good old days”.  Mr. Clarence was very devoted to his family and loved them dearly.  He attended Shady Grove Assembly of God Church.


 


In addition to his parents, his wife Mattie Pearl White Ellenburg, a son, Harold Ellenburg, a daughter, Carolyn Sue Miller, as well as two sisters preceded him in death.


 


Survivors include two daughters: Brenda McCall (Chuckie), Samson, Trisha Ann Yates (Rex), Geneva; three sons: Earnest “E.J.” Ellenburg (Juanita), Stevie Glenn Ellenburg (Cheryle), all of Enterprise, Wayne Ellenburg, Samson; one sister, Ruth Kirkland, Enterprise; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.


 


Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
