Obituary: Mr. David Kirksey


 


Mr. David Kirksey of Dothan, formerly of Baker County, GA passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at his home. He was 73.


 


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Harvest Church, 2727 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL 36305 with Pastor Keith Frith officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Church in Baker County, GA with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.


 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m.


 


Mr. Kirksey was born November 25, 1945 in Baker County, GA to the late William Kirksey and Bertha Rackley Kirksey. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, fishing, and hunting with friends and family.


 


In addition to his parents, one sister, Bobbie Lou Meyer Von Bremen and three brothers: Dale Kirksey, Billy Kirksey and Enoch Kirksey preceded him in death.


 


Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janice “Yvonne” Kirksey; daughter, Rovonda M. Kirksey; two sons: David A. Kirksey (Vicky) and Brian K. Kirksey; grandchildren: Brandy and Allen Elliott, Jayme and Army Evans, Heather and Matthew Vanmoer, Sara Evans, Brad and Jeanna Kirksey and Nicholas Young; great grandchildren: Xavior, LoreLai, Nathaniel, Samantha, Micah, Adalenna, Trevor, Finley and Joseph; sisters and brothers: Franklin Kirksey, Judy Kirksey, Ann, Bell and Donna Hutto; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
