DOTHAN…Mr. Don Metcalf, a resident of Dothan (formerly of Midland City), died late Monday afternoon, June 7, 2021, in Elba Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was 65.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 13, 2021, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Damon Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

            Mr. Metcalf, son of the late William Howard Metcalf and Bobby Jeanette Johnson Metcalf, was a native of Midland City. He was a 1974 Graduate of Dale County High School. Don enjoyed woodworking, fishing, going to car races, and the University of Alabama Football. He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, John Tyson, III and a niece, Amy Hall.

            Surviving relatives include his daughter, Ashley Stanley (Jonathan); four sons, Tracy Metcalf, Brian Metcalf (Jennifer), Eric Metcalf (Andrea Bowen), and Daniel Ray Metcalf; two sisters, Brenda Metcalf and Carolyn Mercer; a brother, Jerry Metcalf (Teresa); eight grandchildren, Tyler Metcalf, Ariel Tyson (John), Caleb Metcalf, Lyla Metcalf, Emma Metcalf, Damon Metcalf, Salem Metcalf, and Noah Stanley; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
