“This establishment does not own a crematory.”

Mr. Don Wayne Holloway, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Flowers Hospital.  He was 74 years old.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from Ozark Church of Christ with Minister Leon Estep officiating. Full Military Honors will be presented following the service. A private interment will be in Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends Wednesday in the church from 9:30 A.M. until service time.

Mr. Holloway was born September 26, 1946 to the late Leonard and Dola Mitchell Holloway, and was life-long resident of Dale County.  He loved the Lord and the Church and was an active, faithful member of the Ozark Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for several years, as well as other leadership roles. He loved his family and loved nothing better than spending time with his children and grandchildren teaching them the art of fishing.  He was preceded in death by his two best fishing partners, David Andrews and Tommy Shipman.  In his younger years, he was a youth baseball coach and later spent many hours attending his grandchildren’s baseball games, softball games and other sporting activities.  He loved his country and was a full-time technician with the Alabama Air National Guard with a career that spanned over forty years (May 1966-September 2006). He was a good neighbor who was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He will be greatly missed by all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, John David Andrews and Jackey Harpe.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Judie A. Holloway of Ozark; two sons, Paul M. Holloway (Ann) of Clio and John Christopher Holloway (Missy) of Ozark; Grandchildren, Brenden Holloway, Nathan Holloway, Katie Holloway, Justin Holloway, Kyle Cumbie (Kylie) and Kristen Majors (Blake); great grandchild, Kynleigh Kate Majors; two sisters, Cleta Harpe of Abbeville and Velma Holloway of Ozark; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Deborah Bush of Brundidge and sister-in-law, Helen Taylor Andrews of Ozark.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Churchs of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, P. O. Box 111180, Nashville,  Tennessee 37222-1180; or to Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Nelson Senn, 373 County Road 241, Ariton, Alabama 36311.     Condolences may be expressed at www.HolmanFuneralHome.com
