OZARK… Mr. Eddie Lee Gissendanner, Sr., a resident of the Johntown Community, near Ozark, passed away late Sunday afternoon, February 5, 2023, at his home. He was 83.


            Homegoing services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 11, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Johntown Community Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.


            Mr. Gissendanner, son of the late Robert Gissendanner and Rosa Key Gissendanner, was a native and lifelong resident of the Johntown Community, near Ozark. He was retired from the Ozark City School System at Lisenby Elementary School as a custodian. Mr. Gissendanner was a member of the Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Johntown. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Jones Gissendanner and a host of other relatives.


            Left to cherish his memory, include his children, Dorothy J. Gissendanner, Jacksonville, Florida, Charlene Gissendanner, Ozark, Nona Gissendanner, Palmetto, Florida, Tracy Gissendanner, Elizabeth Colby (Donnie), Edward Lee Gissendanner, Jr. (Michelle), and Ronnie Gissendanner (Tina), all of Ozark; four sisters, a brother, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
