Mr. Edward Bennett of Geneva, Alabama went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, April 16, 2021, he was 84.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday April 20, at the First Baptist Church in Geneva with Dr. Edwin Scott and Gary Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

Flowers accepted or the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 309 S. Commerce St. Geneva, AL 36340.

Edward was born February 20, 1937 in Butler County, Alabama. Edward and his family moved to Geneva in 1971, where he was the manager of General Telephone for 15 years. In 1985 he retired with GTE after 30 years of service. and moved to Andalusia. Over the next several years he continued to work in the communications industry, owning his own company and installing fiber-optic cable. He and his wife Patsy returned to Geneva in 2003.

He was a Retired United States Veteran serving in the National Guard for 21 years.

Edward was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, worked with the brown bag ministry, and was awarded Deacon Emeritus after serving as deacon many years. He loved Alabama Football and Hank Williams. He was very dedicated to his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Patsy Bennett, one brother, Coy Bennett, four sisters, Doris Davis, Sue Ealum, Marie Ballard, and Rachel Bennett.

He is survived by two sons Mickey Bennett (Angie) and Ricky Bennett (Cathy) of Geneva, one daughter Sarah Bennett, Dothan, AL; three brothers, Johnny Bennett, Paul Bennett, Steve Bennett and two sisters Frances Seale and Mabel Ward. 5 grandchildren: Callie Brooks (Christopher) Dothan, Brent Bennett, Geneva, Bridgett White (Randal) Geneva, Brooks Bennett (Whitney) Slocomb, Jillian DeMatteo (Jake) Tybee Island, GA. 10 great grandchildren: Brady and Baylee Bennett {Headland), Hallie, Quinn, and Maryn Brooke Bennett (Slocomb) Cooper and Evie White (Geneva) Annbelle and Jolie Mccannon, (Brunswick, GA) and AJ Davis {Tybee, GA).

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Greenwood Place Assisted Living and Southern Care Hospice.
