Mr. Edward Lee Creech, Sr. of Coffee Springs, Alabama passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011.  He was 81.


 


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva.  Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Assembly of God cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 4, from 5 until 7 p.m.


 


Mr. Creech was born April 20, 1930, in Geneva County, AL to the late Bertey D. and Willie Voncil Simmons Creech.  He was a retired truck driver having worked with Sessions Peanut Co. for a number of years.  He enjoyed attending the car races in Kinston. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was of the Pentecostal faith.


 


In addition to his parents, two granddaughters, Shelly Waters Murtha and Marsha Bucklew, one great-granddaughter, Harmony Jade Creech, as well as two brothers, James D. and Charles Creech, all preceded him in death.


 


Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Frances Tubb Creech, Coffee Springs; ten children: Gail Waters (Gary), Center Hill, FL, Sandra Lee Pettingill (Keith, Sr.), Grand Junction, CO, Charlotte Bucklew (Michael), Coffee Springs, Edward L.“Eddie” Creech, Jr. (Dot), Hartford, Ronald Earl Creech (Geni), Huntsville, AL, Tammy Jean Creech, Coffee Springs, Timothy Charles Creech (Tammi), Coffee Springs, Michael Robert Creech (Pamela), Suffolk, VA, Sarah Nell Hodge (Michael), Kinston, Ricky Clark (Joyce), Opp; two sisters: Mary Nell Colburn (W.T.), and Geraldine Sanders, all of Geneva; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
