OZARK… Gary Leon Kirkland (Specialist, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday afternoon, January 24, 2023, at his home. He was 69.

            Graveside services will be held at 9:30 A.M. (ET), Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Kirkland, son of the late Matthew Leon Kirkland and Mary Mozelle Baker, was a native of Opelika, Alabama and was a graduate of Opelika High School. He lived in various locations in the United States while serving in the United States Army before moving to Ozark. Mr. Kirkland loved his family and most of all his sisters. He was a University of Alabama Football fan. Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by his sisters, Sherry Delane Shipp, Mary Gaye Wilson, and Ramona Gore.

            Surviving relatives include several nieces and nephews.
