Gene Austin Hilson of Cowarts passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at the age of 89.

Gene was born on October 24, 1931 in Houston County to the late J.B. and Cora Hilson.  

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Letha Hilson; daughters, Charlotte Brackin and Celeste Brannon (Paul); son, Gary Hilson; grandchildren, Jeffery Hilson, Bryan Brackin (Rebecca), Vince Hughes; great-grandchildren, Jade, Olivia, Bennett, Brennen, Iris, and great great-grandchild, Emmerson.

Visitation will take place at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 5-7 PM.  Funeral service will be at Cowarts Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 1 PM with internment immediately to follow at Cowarts Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 1446 N. Broad St. Cowarts, Alabama.
