Mr. George Alan Adams, age 77, of Dothan, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at his residence.


Born August 21, 1945 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late George Milton Adams and Marjorie Beckham Adams, George was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dothan. He enjoyed Harley motorcycles and Alabama football, as well water skiing in his younger days. George, along with his father and brother formed Southern Coaches, a charter motorcoach service in 1990. George also enjoyed time spent at The Farm, working the land as well as fishing.


He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Mary Saxon Adams; his daughters, Lori Wilson (Ron) of Gulf Breeze and Lea Adams of Dothan; his grandchildren, Griffin Adams, Brittany Downing (Chris), and Caitlin Smith (Pete); his great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kaylea, and Greyson; his brother, John David Adams, Sr. (Kristy); his canine companion Koda; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Funeral service will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, April 23, 2023 in the Walton Garden of First United Methodist Church with Dr. David R. Saliba and Reverend Allie Freeman officiating. Visitation will follow after the service in the parlor of the church.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to First United Methodist Church or the charity of their choice.
