Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL

“This establishment does not own a crematory.”

Mr. George Douglas “Doug” Watson, a resident of Montgomery, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the age of seventy-nine.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Clarence Watson officiating.  Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday from 12:30 P. M. until service time.

Mr. Watson was born June 2, 1939, in Louisville, Alabama to the late William Burl Watson and Mary Kathryn Miles Watson.  He served in the United States Army.  Mr. Watson moved his family to Montgomery, Alabama where he was in the trucking business for over forty years. Douglas loved his family and trucking but there was no greater love than the love he had for his wife of sixty years, Margaret Holloway Watson.  Doug is now with Jesus and his beloved son, George Douglas Watson, Jr. We loved him and will miss him until we are united in heaven by the precious blood of Jesus!

He leaves behind his wife of sixty years, Margaret Holloway Watson of Montgomery; his son, Todd Watson (Cyndi); his daughter, Starla Frazer (John). Douglas had four grandchildren, Taylor Watson (Mollie), Justin Watson, Stephen Lee Price, and Cassie Price.  He was blessed before his passing with his first great grandchild by Mollie and Taylor Watson.  He is also survived by one sister, Brenda Hatfield (Jimmy) of Panama City, Florida; four brothers, Lavon Watson (Anna) of Ozark, Gene Watson (Lillibeth) of Headland, Norman Watson (Opal) of Ozark, and Larry Watson (Lydianne) of Dothan.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
