George Whit Parker, Sr., of Columbia, AL, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012, in Marianna, FL. He was 92.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Columbia with Brother Don Tew officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m and continuing until service time. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to: Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3894 Ebenezer Road, Columbia, AL 36319.

Mr. Parker was born on September 14, 1919 in Henry County, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his wife Voncille Tice Parker, a son Billy Gene Parker, and a great grandson Corey Harrison.

Survivors include two sons: George Whit Parker, Jr. (Brenda), Tallahassee, FL. and Kenneth Terry Parker, Columbia, AL; ten grandchildren: Michael Parker (Tammy), Ronald Parker (Lisa), Chris Parker, Gene Parker, Terry Parker, Anita Parker, Toby Parker, Niki Scoggins (Brad), Dr.Trevor Parker (Ashley), and Brooke Parker Bryan (Tyler); eighteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
