   Mr. Hoke Mitchell Childers, a resident of Blue Springs, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023. He was 71 years old. 


  Funeral services for Mr. Childers will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 6, 2023, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Adam Mulliner officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.


   The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home in Ozark from 9:00 A.M. until service time.


   Mr. Childers was born June 24, 1951 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Hoke Mixon Childers and Alice Louise Parker Childers. He grew up in Blue Springs. Mitchell worked for Couch Construction Company for many years as a truck driver. He also worked for Henry County Gin until his retirement. He loved to ride horses and motorcycles.


   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Alecia Childers; and his first wife, Ann Stevenson Childers.


   Survivors include his wife, Annette Jo Brown Childers of Blue Springs; one step-son, John Tyson of Dothan; eight sisters, Jeanette Ripoll of Blue Springs, Joyce Whitner of Tuscumbia, Mary Pharis of Dothan, Dottie Kent of Dothan, Peggy Meeks of Dothan, Linda Johnson of Houston, Texas, Rachel Barron of Dothan and Debora Lynn Childers of Cairo, Georgia.


   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGhee Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36111.
