Mr. Ivey Joe Johnson, age 83, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday July 1, 2017 at the SAMC after an extended illness.

Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Monday July 3, 2017 at the Beulah Church Cemetery on Headland Avenue with Reverend Jim Tate officiating and Reverend Shon Brackin singing with Kendall Glover directing.

The family will receive friends at Glover Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday, July, 3, 2017 prior to the services.  In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Memphis Baptist Church, 4595 Eddins Rd., Dothan, AL. 36301.

Mr. Johnson was born on June 18, 1934 in Dothan the son of Leonard Hayward Johnson and Mildred Francis Williams Johnson.  He attended Houston County High School in Columbia and was a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church.  Mr. Johnson retired as a mechanic with the City of Dothan after 20 years of service and he served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marguarite Ann Ott Johnson; daughter, Donna Kay Johnson; son, Donald Keith Johnson; great granddaughter, Ivie MaKayla Johnson; brother, Clint Hayward Johnson.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Mike Johnson, Dothan; Tony Johnson (Wanda), Dothan; 2 brothers, Johnny Mack Johnson, Houston, TX.; Billy Randall Johnson (Puda), Dothan; 5 grandchildren, Sheree Prater, Tammy Whittington, Kelly Brackin (Shon), Steve Lindsey, Joshua Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren, Caleb Prater, Hunter Broxton, Heath Prater, Gabe Brackin, Katie Jo Brackin, Haley Whittington, Dustin Newman, Douglas Newman and several nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers will be close friends of Mr. Johnson.
