Mr. Jack J. Powell of Hartford passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on Friday, November 11, 2011.  He was 77. 

 Mr. Powell was born in West Virginia on September 14, 1934 to the late Earl Powell and Lula Hayhurst Powell.  He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.  He enjoyed hunting and loved to fish.  He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Powell; step-son, Mark Bodak; step-daughter, Patty Bodak Whittle; three brothers, Edward Powell, Terry Powell and Bobby Powell; and one sister.

 He is survived by his wife, Frances Powell of Hartford; son, Louis Powell of New York; one step-son, Paul Bodak (Gloria) of Ohio; three grandchildren, Amber Langford, Lisa Cotton and Michael Bodak; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Powell of West Virginia and Roger Powell of Ohio; two sisters, Patricia Swiger of Ohio and Barbara Powell of West Virginia; and special friends David and Shirley Cassady of Hartford.
