POST OAK COMMUNITY… Mr. James A. Miller, a resident of the Post Oak Community, near Ozark, died Tuesday afternoon, January 16, 2024, at his home. He was 93.


            Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 19, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Keith Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Post Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.


            Mr. Miller, son of the late Adam “A.D.” Miller and Minnie Griggs Miller, was a native of Dale County. He retired from Fort Rucker (now Fort Novosel) as a helicopter mechanic. Some of Mr. Miller’s favorite times were being on his tractor and deer hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Willene McLendon Miller; son, Gerald Keith Miller; two sisters, Eddie Hayes (Lewis) and Lizzie Ann Miller; three brothers, June Miller (Dean), Ed Miller (Carrie), and O’Neal Miller (Grace).


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Janet Elaine Miller, Gainesville, Georgia; a son, James R. Miller, Medellin, Colombia; granddaughter, Bridgett Sanford.
