Mr. James Early Adkins, Jr. of Dothan passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016. He was 86.


Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2016, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or a memorial contribution may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL. 36303.


Mr. Adkins was born June 10, 1930. He was retired as the owner and operator of Adkins Shoe Repair Shop after 60 years. Mr. Adkins served his country in the United States Navy and is a Lifetime Member of D.A.V. and is a member of Cher-O-Creek Tribe. He was of Baptist Faith.


He is preceded in death by his parents Jewell Frances Adkins and James Early Adkins, Sr., 3 children Phillip David Adkins, Thomas Early Adkins and Michael Garner Adkins.


Survivors include his wife Annie Merle Adkins, son James Bruce Adkins, daughter Martha Jane McCall, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
