Mr. James Edward (Shorty) Shirah

James Edward (Shorty) Shirah of Geneva, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.  He was 75 years old. Shorty was born April 10, 1945 to the late Kenneth Woodrow and Claudie Broxson Shirah.

 

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Geneva with Red Coleman officiating and Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Geneva at 2:00 p.m.

 

Mr. Shirah was preceded in death by his wife Linda and Saturday would have been their 56th wedding anniversary. He is survived by two children, Renee’ Shirah Thompson of Dothan, Steve (Stevie) and Carla Shirah of Columbia, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Gabriel Shirah, Alex Shirah, Jessie Thompson; two siblings, Genola Shirah McLeod (Thomas) of Coffee Springs, Kenneth Wayne Shirah (Stephanie) of Bellwood; two nephews, Anthony Shirah (Kerri), Jamie Shirah (Penny); one neice Mackenzie Shirah; special friends; Rex Hatcher, Charlie Harris and family and Jimmy Metlock and family.

 

The family would like to invite everyone to celebrate Shorty’s life with them with pizza and beverages at Gran Jans in Geneva from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
