   Mr. James Louis “Sonny” Kerr, a resident of Auburn, Alabama, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 1, 2023. He was 86 years old.

   Funeral services will be graveside 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 2023, in Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

   Mr. Kerr was born February 20, 1936 in Wedowee, Alabama to the late Louis Reaves and Clara Wright Kerr. James attended Auburn University and served in the United States Army. He was a member of Auburn First Baptist Church and later attended Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Kerr was the third generation owner of Kerr Construction in Auburn established by his grandfather. He was an avid sky diver, marksman and Auburn fan. Sonny married Rhoda Woodard Kerr in 1989 and they lived thirty-three years just outside Auburn.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Daniel Stone and two brothers-in-law, William Vanoy and J. D. George. Sonny leaves a legacy as a proud father to James Craig Kerr, Joel “Jody” Hagler (Ping) and to Leah Hagler Stone.

   He is a grandfather to Rowan Kerr (Austin Webster), Daniel Stone, Dinah Shae Brook Stone Robinson (Brennen), Jordanne Hagler; great grandsons, Wilder Webster and Colter Webster. He is also survived by two sisters, Ellen Vanoy and Linda George; special friend, Stephen Stone; sisters-in-law, Gwen Thompson, Juanita Carter and Alice Allums. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive.

   Memorials may be made to Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund; or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.
