Mr. James Monroe Peacock of Hartford passed away on March 9, 2013.  He was 76.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Hartford Baptist Church with Dr. Ralph Brannon and Rev. Chris Kroll and Rev. Bruce Spivey officiating.  Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hartford Baptist Church, 105 E. Burch St, Hartford, AL 36344.


 Mr. Peacock was born in Geneva County to the late James Stanford and Ruth Brackin Peacock on January 17, 1937.  He was a deacon at Hartford Baptist Church for more than 40 years.  Prior to his retirement, Mr. Peacock worked with the U.S. Army Combat Readiness/Safety Center where he wrote a teleprocessing program that was used worldwide by the U.S. Army for many years.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Peacock.


 He is survived by his step-daughter, Sharon Kass (Charlie) of Chicago, IL; and two grandchildren, Dennis Kass of Chicago and Ssg. Melissa Kass of New Mexico; and a special aunt, Alice Brackin McAliley.
