Obituary: Mr. Jerry M. Parrish

 

 

Mr. Jerry M. Parrish of Wicksburg passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 76. 

A graveside service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 in the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Allen Singley and Rev. Buddy Hood officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Building Fund. 

Jerry was born March 10, 1944 in Dale County to the late Clifton and Flora Bell Garner Parrish. His early working years began in the airline industry where he later retired after 20 years of service.  Jerry was a hard worker and enjoyed seeing and getting to know all his customers at Parrish Oil Company.  He was an active member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church where he was honored and proud to serve as a deacon. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and his favorite hobby was fishing. 

In addition to his parents, a sister, Maxine McIntyre preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Holland Parrish, Wicksburg; daughter, Brandi P. Devine (Matt), Newnan, GA; sons: Ron Parrish (Sandi), Dothan, and Greg Parrish (Stephanie), Auburn; grandchildren: Hayden Parrish, Sydney Parrish, Woods Parrish, Willow Grace Parrish, Parrish Devine, and Maggie Beth Devine; siblings: Martha Tidwell, Frances Richardson, Grace Elmore, James Parrish, and Danny Parrish; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. 

The family requests that all in attendance practice social distancing and abide by all Covid-19 mandates.
