 Mr. Jimmy Mack Allgood of Dothan passed away from a battle with the West Nile Virus on  Monday, September 11, 2023 at the age of 85.



A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Allgood will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Reverend Chuck Lock officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.



The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or to Ridgecrest Baptist Church.



Mr. Allgood was born May 22, 1938 to the late Melton and Emma Beasley Allgood. He loved fishing, Alabama football, gardening, and sharing his garden with others. He served his country in the US Navy. Mr. Allgood worked at Twitchell, Builders Home, Medical Center and retired from Michelin. He was of Methodist faith, and attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He was married 61 years to the love of his life Sara Herring Allgood. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.



Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Allgood, brothers Cullen Allgood, Joseph Allgood, sisters-in-law Lorraine Brunson, Erleen Wiggins, Bobbie Whitehead, Mae Helon  Friant, mother-in-law Annie Mae Herring, and his loving dog Malibu.



He is survived by his wife Sara Herring Allgood, daughter Laurie Allgood, daughter -in-law Charlotte Allgood, granddaughters Bonnie (Colten), Abbie (Martin), Courtney (Brian), EmilyAnne (Lake), great-grandson Archer, great-granddaughters Campbell and Collins, brother-in-law George Herring (Muriel), sisters-in-law Dot Curry, Martha Pope, Martha Allgood and several nieces and nephews.
