Mr. John Adam Mitchell, age 42, a resident of Delta, Alabama died Tuesday June 27, 2023, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday July 3, 2023, at Grace Fellowship Community Church (860 Summerall Gate Road, Anniston, Al) with Pastor Carlton Weathers officiating and Pastor Kris Henderson providing the Eulogy.  Graveside service with U.S. Air Force Honors will follow at Forestlawn Gardens Cemetery (730 Golden Springs Road, Anniston, Al) with Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula directing and assisted by K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs.

The family will be receiving friends from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Monday at the Grace Fellowship Community Church.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to His Hands and Feet Ministries.  A ministry to the homeless and under-resourced in Calhoun County, mail to His Hands and Feet Ministries of CC, P.O. Box 8234, Anniston, AL. 36202.

John was born on June 29, 1980, in Carrollton, Georgia the son of James Webster Mitchell and Leona Agnes Taylor Mitchell.  He grew up in Bowdon, Georgia and was a 1998 Graduate of Bowdon High School.  He later received his bachelor’s degree from Mt. Olive College and his MBA from Jacksonville State University.  John has worked for the past 13 years as a Calibration Technician with Civil Service at the Army Depot and he was co-founder and co-owner with his wife of Cheaha Cheer and Tumble, LLC beginning in 2012.  John was an avid outdoorsman especially enjoying mountain biking, hiking trails and sawmilling.  He was a member of Grace Fellowship Community Church in Anniston and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Allison Dowling Mitchell; daughter, Nora Jae Mitchell and son, John Webster Mitchell all of Delta, Al.; parents, James Webster Mitchell and Leona Agnes Mitchell, Carrollton, Ga; 2 brothers, David Mitchell (Melanie), Carrollton, Ga. And Stephen Mitchell (Heather), Delta, Al.; his in laws, Bonnie and Eric Glover, Eufaula, Al. and John and Shannon Dowling, Clayton, Al.; brother-in-law, Treavor Dowling (Brandy), Eufaula, Al.; sisters-in-law, Sydney Dowling, Weirsdale, Fl.; Erin Christman (Chad), Ringgold, Ga.; Beloved nieces and nephews, Hal, Allison, Sam, Bailey, Hailey, Adalynn, River, Maddie, Carly and Isabella

Active pallbearers will be: John Dowling, Treavor Dowling, Kris Henderson, David Mitchell, Stephen Mitchell, and Jeremiah Yates.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Rodney Bonham, Jared Clark, Jimmy Charles, Chad Christman, Spencer Davis, Jamie Estep, Wayne Ford, Keven Geter, Bronson Ivester, Justin Lathem, Jeromy Loether, Hal Mitchell, Roger Mouchka, Brad Pabst, Louis Posala, Clarence Prothro, Tyler Sitz, Lanny Smith, Don Svabek, and Ryan Zaideman.
