Mr. John Edward Hice, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday evening, December 5, 2019, in Dale Medical Center. He was 48 years old.

A private memorial service for Mr. Hice will be held at a later date.

Mr. Hice was born January 29, 1971 in Ozark, Alabama. He was a 1990 graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark. Mr. Hice was a member of Ozark Baptist Church.  He enjoyed listening to the music at the Ozark Roller Bowl where his parents were managers.  He enjoyed writing adventure stories and was an avid Alabama football fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Hice and his grandparents, Leonidas and Elizabeth Byrd, Iola and Donald Thornton.

Survivors include his mother, Alice Byrd Hice of Ozark; his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Suvanghn Hice of Ozark; two nephews, Alex Hice and Josh Hice of Ozark.  Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
