Mr. John Edward Munn, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in Southeast Health Medical Center.  He was 84 years old.


Funeral services for Mr. Munn will be 2:30 P. M. Friday, September 3, 2021, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark with Reverend Clayton Garner officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday from 1:00 P.M. until service time.  


Serving as pallbearers will be Ashley Munn, Phillip Willis, Joey Willis, Leland Koon, Christopher LeMonte, Alex LeMonte and Lakota Koon.



Mr. Munn was born October 30, 1936 in Ozark, Alabama to the late T. R. Munn and Louise Bludsworth Munn. He served proudly in the United States Navy on the USS Hornet CV12 and worked as an aircraft mechanic at Fort Rucker for 41 years. He also served with the Dale County Sheriff Department for several years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Linda Lou French Munn; two sisters, Merle Fisher (Don) and Helen Michalic; and one brother, Robert T. Munn (Mae Opal).


Survivors include one daughter, Tamara Johnson (Stan) of Cusseta, Alabama; three sons, William E. “Billy” Munn (Judy), Daniel W. Munn and John E. Munn all of Ozark; thirteen grandchildren, Amy Reddicks (Josh), Michelle Barentine, Ashley Munn (Tiffany), Phillip Willis (Brandi), Kristina Bell (David), Joey Willis (Natalie), Gary Munn, Chris Munn, Heaven Campbell (James), Angel Davis, Chris Sigers, Kyllie Munn, and Amber Bussinnelle; one sister, Frances Burke of Ozark; two brothers, Willie Ralph Munn (Brenda) of Albany, Georgia and T. R. Munn, Jr. (Pat) of Ozark.   Twenty-three great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
