Mr. John P. Kilpatrick of Samson passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on February 21, 2012. He was 71. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating.

Mr. Kilpatrick was born in Samson on April 13, 1940. He was raised by his mother, Annie Hilma Rials and step-father, Ison Rials. He was a truck driver for many years, hauling furniture out of North Carolina. He also worked on farms and ranches throughout his life. Mr. Kilpatrick was a member of Lime Springs United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Kilpatrick; brother, Charles Windham; and sister, Karen Monk.

He is survived by his son, John Scott Kilpatrick of Samson; sister, Marjoria Gutsman of Nebraska; and his special friend, Retha Jensen of Samson.
