Obituary: Mr. John Stephen Spears

 

Mr. John Stephen Spears of Slocomb went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 24, 2020 at Noland Hospital.  He was 63. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. David Zorn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with final expenses. 

Stephen was born March 12, 1957 in Pike County to the late Rev. John Calvin and Jeanie Mae Donaldson Spears. He enjoyed Continental Championship Wrestling and wordsearch puzzles; was an avid Alabama football fan, and loved spending time at church. 

In addition to his parents, a nephew, Daniel Lee Wood preceded him in death. 

Survivors include siblings: Stephanie Wood, and Stan Spears (Teressa); niece, Loran Wood; nephew, Aaron Wood; and other extended family and friends.
