   Mr. John Thomas “Tommy” Mitchell, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the home of his daughter. He was 71 years old.


   A memorial service for Mr. Mitchell will be held 6:00 P.M. Monday, April 25, 2022, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Kenneth Andrews officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday from 5:00 P.M. until service time.


   Mr. Mitchell was born September 6, 1950, in Ozark, Alabama to the late Ewell Lee Mitchell, Jr. and Martha Lura Kerley Mitchell. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1969 and served in the United States Marines. Tommy had worked as an aircraft mechanic with Pemco World Air Services for many years.


   Tommy is survived by one daughter, Heather Smith (Larry) of Ozark; one son, John Scott Mitchell of Hartford; two sisters, Lura Pfost and Sarah Fisk (Larry) all of Ozark; two brothers, Billy Mitchell of Ozark and Britt Mitchell of Geneva; and three granddaughters, Nikki Mitchell of Geneva, Ella Smith and Emily Smith of Ozark; one great grandson, Kyron Soles of Geneva; his special companion, Donna Golden of Cairo, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to DaySpring Hospice, 201 West Lee Street, Enterprise, Alabama 36330; or to Lee Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Sam Childree, 3998 Highway 123 South, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
