Obituary: Mr. John Travis Tidwell

 

Mr. John Travis Tidwell of Coffee County passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Opp Health and Rehab. He was 88. 

Memorialization will be by cremation. 

Mr. Tidwell was born December 14, 1935 in Geneva County to the late John Alex and Lillie Annie Ammons Tidwell. 

In addition to his parents his wife, Mary Yohn Tidwell; daughter, Wendy Tidwell Hanson; siblings: Vera Crawley, Era Leighton, Pvt. William Tidwell, Ernest Tidwell, Oscar Tidwell, and James Tidwell, all preceded him in death. 

Survivors include daughter, Mary Troutman, Hilo, HI; son, Johnny Tidwell (Carolyn), Chancellor; grandchildren: Tenisha Tuncer (Turgay), Atlanta, GA, Tasha Cantrell (David), Chancellor, Dusty Tidwell (Lucenda), Chancellor, Tim Brown, Las Vegas, NV, Tommy Brown (Karey), Hilo, HI, Eric Troutman, Hilo, HI, and Brandi Bright (Tyler), Hilo, HI; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and one on the way; sister-in-law, Louise Gamble; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 

The family would like to send a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and Opp Nursing Home for the loving care they gave to Mr. Tidwell.
