Mr. Johnnie Smith of Hartford, AL passed away on Friday, April 02, 2021 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. He was 88.


 A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at Carmel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carmel Mission Funds, 1485 Carmel Church Rd., Bonifay, FL 32425.


 Mr. Smith was born in Florida on March 13, 1933 to the late Henry Ruth and Jessie Eugene Jacobs Smith. He was a minister of the gospel for over 30 years, having served in the Church of God. He served from Florida to Alaska and many places in between. He was a faithful and devoted follower of Christ who loved to read and study his bible. He truly left a legacy to his children and grandchildren to follow, always pointing them toward living a life preparing for the kingdom of Heaven. Carmel Assembly of God Church was blessed to have had him as a member of their church family and served as head usher for many years.


 In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Smith; three brothers and one sister.


 He is survived by four daughters, Tracy Smith of Hartford, AL, Diana Smith (Louis) of DeSoto, TX, Sharon McKinnis (Rick) of Orlando, FL, Marcia Williams (Robert) of West Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Brandie McKinnis, Shaun McKinnis, Jason Smith, Tanisha Freeman and 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
