Johnny C. Campbell, affectionally known as “Daddy, Paw Paw, Papa, Pop, and Baby” passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 24, 2023 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Sister Judy Dyson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Johnny was born on January 22, 1952 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Winston and Eloise Campbell. He graduated high school from Louisville High School in Louisville, Alabama in 1970. He worked for many years and was part owner of Tri State Refrigeration. Johnny was a man of many talents, if it had a bolt, screw, or nail, or could be taken apart he could fix it or repair it. He kept all the equipment operating behind the scenes of his wife’s restaurant, Kathy’s Kountry Kitchen, for many years. He had a love for fishing with his wife as his fishing partner. He had a great love and passion for his wife, children, grandchildren, and his precious great grandchildren, who he loved to play with.  He loved big gatherings and he and his wife fed many in their home, including many they didn’t know, but all were welcome. He was a man of few words, but the words spoken stayed and impacted the lives around him.

Johnny was a man with one voice, a humble, loving, and caring man but most of all, a Godly man who touched and had a strong impact in the lives of all his friends and family whom he loved dearly. Johnny’s life was marked for his loving and loyal ways, a dedicated man to God and his family.  He had a great passion for studying God’s Word. He was a loyal Deacon, Teacher, and Leader at his church. He enjoyed football and was an avid Alabama fan. He loved his fur babies Mitzi, T Roy, and Coco, and his kitties.

Johnny was a man with a big heart for all who he loved and knew. He will be greatly missed. We all love you, honey.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Cleveland Campbell (Noona), and Johnny Baxley (Nettie); brother, Gerald Campbell; and grandson, Zach Thorne (his little sidekick).

Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Kathy Campbell; son, John Campbell (Tara), Hartford, Alabama; daughters, Amanda (Brent) Balistreri, Rehobeth, Alabama, Chanda Archie,  Ashford, Alabama, Jennifer Archie (Greg), Samson, Alabama, and Susan (Matt) Filicicchia, Crystal, Minnesota; grandchildren, Spencer Graybill, Jordan Keith, Hailey Davis, Tirzah Filicicchia, Emileigh Dennis, Elora Filicicchia, Johnny Campbell, and Izzy Lusk; great grandchildren, Hezekiah, Alexander, Maggie, Waylon, and Elianna; two brothers, Ricky Campbell and Randy Campbell; and one sister, Brenda Campbell; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the caring staff of Southern Care Hospice, especially Rosa and Shannon.
