Obituary:  Mr. Johnny W. Fondren

 

Mr. Johnny W. Fondren of Slocomb passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Bonifay Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  He was 73. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Clyde Hollis officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family request that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Slocomb Fire-Rescue, 324 South State Highway 103, Slocomb, AL 36375 

Mr. Fondren was born January 19, 1948 in Geneva County to the late Claud and Sue Hutto Fondren. He was a 1966 graduate of Slocomb High School and worked at Ft. Rucker in his early years.  Johnny shared a very special bond with his daddy and loved working with him on the family farm. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, and he was an avid Alabama football fan. 

Johnny is survived by his loving family and a host of friends! 

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Bonifay Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the kindness and care they provided to Johnny.
