Mr. Kenneth Lamar Lane, age 90, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Wesley Place in Dothan.

Funeral services for Mr. Lane will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Dothan with Reverend Bob Gross officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, July 15, 2017, one hour prior to the service. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.

Mr. Lane was born in Dothan, Alabama on March 23, 1927, the son of the late Arthur Lane and Nannie White Lane. A graduate of Dothan High School, he served his country in the Navy during WWII and Korea. He worked at the Dothan Post Office for forty-one years, retiring as Manager of Customer Service in 1984. Mr. Lane was also an active member of his community belonging to the VFW, Elks and Kiwanis. He was instrumental in starting the Wiregrass Federal Credit Union and served on its board. In his free time, he enjoyed building electronic kits and listening to theater organ music. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Hackers Golf Group at the Dothan Country Club for thirty years. The Hackers Golf Group will be honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Lane was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Marjorie Huckaby Lane of Dothan, his son, Kenneth Gregory Lane and wife Linda of Panama City, his sister, Mary Ann Stockwell of Tulsa, and grandchildren, Melissa, Amy and Emily Lane.
