OZARK… Mr. Leonard Lewis Weldon, a resident of Ozark, died late Thursday evening, January 19, 2023, in a Dothan hospital. He was 69.


            Funeral services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 22, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Matthew Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.


            Mr. Weldon, son of the late Roland Leon Weldon and Betty Lou Moore Weldon, was a native of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He lived in various locations in the United States and overseas, while his father served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Weldon moved to Ozark in 1969 and was a 1971 Graduate of Carroll High School. He attended the University of Alabama and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Weldon was retired from Diebold, a banking and security company. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Weldon.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Margie Childree Weldon, Ozark; a son, Joel Weldon, LaGrange, Georgia; a sister, Cindy Smith (Mike), Ozark; two brothers, William Carl Weldon (Sue), Pinckard and Roland Leon “Buddy” Weldon, Jr. (Kerrie), Dothan; two grandchildren, Destiny Walker and Travis Walker; step-children, Krissy Walker (Jason) and Rodney Carr, all of Ozark; sister-in-law, Carolyn Weldon, Dothan; relatives from the Childree family, mother-in-law, Nell Baker Childree, Ozark; sister-in-law, Myra Perault (Pat), Dothan, Martha Rogers, Bobby Childree, and Billy Childree, all of Ozark; several nieces and nephews.
