Mr. Lionel Adrian Blake, Sr. of Geneva, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 9, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.  He was 86.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at the Geneva Church of God, Highway 52, with Bro. Michael Smith, officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Blake was born in Lee County, FL on March 28, 1933, to the late Noeba A. Blake and Elsie Nipper Blake.  He served in many positions in his church over the years.  He loved to attend church services and never forgot to give everyone a big hug when he would enter the building.  He could often be heard singing over the preacher during service.  His favorite hobbies were gardening, fishing, and singing.  He was always willing to help anyone who needed help, even after he was no longer able to do so.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Elizabeth Rebecca Jeter Blake; two sons, Lionel Adrian Blake, Jr. (Rebecca) of Enterprise, and Clarence A. “Bo” Blake (Susan) of Daleville; daughter, Barbara F. Coleman of Geneva; twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and his twin sister, Clarice Montz (Walter) of Lake Placid, FL.  The family would like to offer a special thank you to First Choice Hospice for their kind care and compassion, and also to the Geneva Church of God.
