            Mr. Marion Anderson of New Brockton, AL passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.  He was 81.

            Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Goodman Independent Church with Rev. Randy Hartley officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The body will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 until 7 pm.

            Mr. Anderson was born January 10, 1935 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late William Mose and Callie Adkison Anderson.  He was a member of Goodman Independent Church.

            In addition to his parents, his first wife, Veetta J. Anderson and five brothers: William, Luney, Jessie, David, and Roy Anderson preceded him in death.

            Survivors include his wife, Bertha Harden Anderson, Elba; three children: Teresa Nolin (Mike), Elba, Paul Anderson (Michelle), New Brockton, and Gary Anderson (Kathy), New Brockton; two brothers: Charles Anderson (Nell), Enterprise, and Rev. Huey Anderson (Elaine), New Brockton; one sister: Linda Baxley, New Brockton; five grandchildren: Blaine Anderson (Hope), Brandon LaPointe (Crystal), Kasie Anderson (Ellison), Clint Anderson, and Kala Anderson;  five great-grandchildren: Kayla Anderson, Haydin Anderson, Caden Anderson, Phil LaPointe, Lily LaPointe; numerous nieces and nephews.
