Mr. Marvin E. Hardy of Ashford passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the age of 82.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM. Friday, January 31, 2020 at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Peacock officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, January 30, 2020. Flowers will be accepted.

 

Mr. Hardy served in the US Air Force for 8 years. He worked as a sewing machine mechanic at Wextex in Ashford and at Standard Textile in Enterprise.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Hardy and Crystalbell Shelby Hardy, 2 sisters and a niece, and by his beloved “Little Man” his dog Leo.

 

Survivors include his wife Linda Hardy of Ashford; daughters Tammy Hudson of Birmingham; Nancy Smith (Eric Bowers) of Ashford; Starla Fountain (Scott) of Midland, GA; grandchildren Brittany Cade (David) of Esto, FL; Meagan Scott (Cody)of McKenzie, AL; Matthew Hodges of Arizona; Justin Blankenship of Birmingham; and 2 great-grandchildren Sarah Hodges and Carson Cade.
