Mr. Marvin Morgan of Samson passed away on February 14, 2012. He was 77. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Randall Pearson and Rev. Elbert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Morgan was born in Geneva County, AL on June 12, 1934 to the late Lewis Clayton Morgan and Lula Tillman Morgan. He worked for 25 years with Vickers Construction in Geneva. He was a member of Eden Baptist Church. Mr. Morgan loved Alabama Crimson Tide football and going to the pond bass fishing. He lived in the Marl Community his whole life and enjoyed reminiscing with his buddies at Harry Wilson’s Store. He was preceded in death by four brothers, John Morgan, Rubin Morgan, Melvin Morgan and James "Doc" Morgan; sister, Burnice Crowley; and daughter, Betty Morgan Varner.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Aycock Morgan; son, Billy Ray Morgan, both of Samson; daughter, Linda Stanley (Chuck) of Westville, FL; and grandson, Hunter Morgan of Samson.
