Mr. Max Oswell Anderson, born on July 1, 1932 in Florala, AL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Westside Terrace in Dothan, AL.


Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, July 17, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Drinkwater officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Cloverdale Baptist Church.


Max worked for Dothan Road and Bridge for many years before retiring in the late 80’s. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he enjoyed being with his grandchildren and loved them dearly. He was a faithful member of Cloverdale Baptist Church until his health declined.


Max is preceded in death by his parents, Woodard and Lillian Anderson of Columbia, AL, his beloved daughter Deborah Anderson LeClerc, his siblings A.Z. Cain and  Billy Don Anderson.


Max is survived by his wife of 73 years, Betty J. Anderson, his son Max Dewayne Anderson (Sharon), three granddaughters Shannon Jimmerson (Doug), Susan Broyles (Kevin), and Brandy LeClerc, great-grandchildren Rachel Broyles, Makayla Broyles, Ragan Jimmerson, Blake Jimmerson, Sean Deaton and Aiden Day.
